The diameter of punching die is related to the cold and hot size of forging hole. The empirical formula is as follows:
Diameter of punch = diameter of cold forging * coefficient of expansion
Expansion coefficient is determined according to the diameter of forgings and material. The recommended values are as follows:
Ordinary steel:

Bearing steel:
